The Challenge
Renew Dental was growing fast. With 18 employees and multiple new hires joining in 2025 alone, the practice was scaling at a pace that its internal systems simply hadn't kept up with. Training was scattered across a disorganized Google Drive with no consistent format. There was no centralized password management system — credentials were shared informally, creating friction and security risk. New employees were being onboarded without a structured process, making it difficult to get people up to speed consistently and confidently. And with more team members expected to join, the problem was only going to get worse. Dr. Dani Gray and her team needed a real operational foundation — the kind that would hold up as the practice kept growing.
The Brik Solution
We came in as Renew's back office partner and started where the gap was biggest: training. Working closely with the Clinical Manager and Office Manager, we built out a complete Trainual system from scratch — structured around the way the practice actually runs. The curriculum includes welcoming the team as a whole and then individual roles and departments, plus communication and culture courses. New hires now have a clear, structured path from day one. In parallel, we led the migration from LastPass to 1Password, giving the team a secure, centralized credential management system that eliminates the informal password-sharing that had been creating risk. We also worked alongside the team to set up role-based Slack channels, giving the staff clearer internal communication structure as the practice scaled. When Renew began evaluating HR platforms to further automate their employee processes, we provided recommendations and supported the evaluation between Heartland and Gusto — helping Dr. Gray make a confident, informed decision rather than spending hours navigating it alone.
Results
Renew Dental now has an operational foundation built to scale. New hires onboard faster, with more consistency — the Trainual system was piloted with a real new hires and existing employees completing courses successfully. Credentials are secure. Internal communication has structure. And the team has more confidence in their systems, which means Dr. Gray and Autumn can focus on the practice instead of constantly managing the gaps.
